Applied Behavior Analysis Technician [ABAT]

The ABAT credential certifies that certificants have demonstrated entry‐level (ABAT) knowledge, skill, and their competency in autism and applied behavior analysis (ABA) has been thoroughly assessed. An ABAT is a paraprofessional in behavior analysis who practices under the close, ongoing Supervision of a QBA or QASP-S.This course is equivalent to the RBT certification offered by the BACB.

BMI Coursework Requirements

  • Candidate must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must have completed 10+2 years of education from a National / recognized school board.


Additional Requirements

(To be done independently by the student before appearing for the QABA exam. These are not part of the BMI course provision.)

  • Fieldwork Hours - 15 Hours
  • Supervision Hours - 10% of Independent Fieldwork Hours (1.5 Hours)
Fieldwork and/or Supervision can be provided by BMI on a case-by-case basis as per availability.
